Game Design: Mazes & Monsters Coding
Fridays, 2:45-3:45 PM starts on 10/11 and ends on 11/15.
Grades 2 and up!
In Silver Knights Coding clubs, children in grades 2 and up learn to create stories, games, and animations using a visual programming language called Scratch. It’s as easy to use as snapping together building blocks!
Design your own video games in the Game Design: Mazes and Monsters unit. Using Scratch 3 digital tools, create your own maze games, platformers, and side scrollers. Use the Silver Knights Curriculum to learn how to code and then add more excitement to your games with amazing graphics, sounds, game add-ons like leveling up, gravity variables, and scores! Level up! These are all-new projects!
With Scratch, children learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Scratch is designed and maintained by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab. Our curriculum teaches new coders the basics, while challenging more experienced coders to create increasingly complex programs. Silver Knights provides a laptop for every child. Plus at the end of the session, each child takes home a USB with all their programs on it!
