Daniels Run Elementary School Coding - Game Design: Arcade Action Winter 2020

3705 Old Lee Highway Fairfax, VA 22030

Arcade Action

Thursdays, 1/23 to 3/12, 7:50 to 8:50 AM

Make-up class if needed on 3/19.

In Silver Knights Coding clubs, children in grades 2 and up learn to code using a visual programming language called Scratch. It’s as easy to use as snapping together building blocks! The Arcade Action unit shows kids how to program their own take on classic arcade games like Pong, Tanks, and Snake! Game on!

With Scratch, children learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Scratch is designed and maintained by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab. Our curriculum teaches new coders the basics, while challenging more experienced coders to create increasingly complex programs. Silver Knights provides a laptop for every chilld.

We have different projects every session so material doesn't repeat!   Each child will take home the USB with their projects included on the last day!
