Cardinal Forest Elementary School Coding - Game Design: Arcade Action Winter 2020

8600 Forrester Blvd Springfield, VA 22152

Fridays, 1/24 to 3/20;  7:45am- 8:50am, Grades 2-6 only.

Make-up date if needed on 3/27.

In Silver Knights Coding clubs, children in grades 2 and up learn to code using a visual programming language called Scratch. It’s as easy to use as snapping together building blocks! The Arcade Action unit shows kids how to program their own take on classic arcade games like Pong, Tanks, and Snake! Game on!

With Scratch, children learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Scratch is designed and maintained by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab. Our curriculum teaches new coders the basics, while challenging more experienced coders to create increasingly complex programs. Silver Knights provides a laptop for every child.

We do different projects every session, so material doesn’t repeat. Each child takes home a USB with all their programs on the last day!
